Statement:

I'm all about colour, colour combinations and whimsy.  I enjoy creating things that make me and others stop for a moment to giggle then wonder.  I simply can't let a bland thing near me without somehow bringing out the best in that object or at least tweaking it a bit ! I truely believe the things we use and have around us need to be unique and personal using whatever brings us visual pleasure.   Statement?  My Artist's Statement boils down to Fun and Smiles All Around ~ Another Round !

Background:

I began painting and decorating my living spaces for no apparent reason but to liven up the place over 35 years ago.  That lead to include all those what I call almond barf colour switchplate covers, sponging countertops and decoupaging door frames.  Owner or renter I just couldn't stop.  I came to realize it was a direct result of perhaps an inherited curse of insomnia /slash /vivid dreaming.  Perhaps the other way around?  One can only play the hand they are dealt !         I have no formal training as a painter so I incorporate self taught imagination (if that's possible) with decoupage, embellishments and the custom design techniques which I do have a formal training background in.  I've learned in my crafting just as I've learned in design school ~ a good seamstress knows how to turn a mistake into creativity......so too in artistic endeavors.  I am recently much less rigid in trying to perfect a style which has allowed me an abundance of confidence to persue a lasting impression.  From those same lite switchplate covers to boxes to vases and clothing, I no longer see my insomniac dreams a curse .
