Statement:
Hello, my name is Shane Irvine. I am a stained glass artist with more than thirty years of hands-on experience building custom stained glass works. I also do Watercolor Paintings and lapidary work. In recent years, I have been experimenting with combining the three mediums.
Background:
Custom Cabinet Insert Panels: I have a wide variety of leaded and beveled glass insert panels for custom or stationary cabinets. They are constructed to your specific size requirements (within under 1/8 inch inside frame). I have a wide variety of beveled glass patterns available and charge by the intricacy of the pattern.
Stained Glass Commissions: Over the years I have built hundreds of stained glass windows and experimented with a number of different art mediums. My goal is to provide an elegant atmosphere of opulence and luxury. To achieve this, I incorporate an assortment of brass and beveled glass patterns along with stunning cut and polished stones and cabochons. The incorporation of brass not only adds to the exquisiteness of the work, it also adds incredible strength.
Multi-Medium Autonomous Panels: My areas of expertise are in stained glass, lapidary work (cutting and polishing stones) and watercolor paintings. My art works are multi-medium incorporating the elegance of stained and leaded glass joined with brass and lead came. My art glass incorporates cut and polished stones in an avant-garde flow that meanders across a classical blue-diamond background pattern. The pattern and color selections are orchestrated with a watercolor painting at the base of the panel.
Watercolor Paintings: My paintings primarily follow oceanic or wilderness themes. In my younger years, I was raised an avid surfer and sailor in Hawaii. This left an incredible impression on my artistic vision. Currently I reside in Merced, California, i.e., The Gateway to Yosemite. Weather an oceanic scene or a painting of Yosemite, my surroundings, past and present, powerfully reflect the themes of my art work. My ink-work is self-developed and the end result of literally thousands of paintings over the years.
