Statement:

I am a realist by nature, and I create images that touch my life. I enjoy painting and drawing with a variety of media, depending on my mood and the mood that I desire from my piece. I love portraiture best of all, and spend most of my time creating custom portraits for family, friends, and colleagues.

Background:

I have always known that I would be an artist. My father and grandfather passed down the artistic gene to me and both of my brothers. I spent my youth taking private lessons with a variety of artists, absorbing as much as I could. I also know that I have a gift with children, and in college felt the calling to become a teacher. I graduated from Harding University in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in art education. I am now about to complete my first year of teaching elementary art in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I love teaching, and I have been blessed with students who truly love art and the creative experience. This year, I have also made the decision to become more serious about my own art. I have begun to take on commissions for portraiture and landscapes, and have received positive feedback. It is now time for me to take the next step and advertise on a higher level.
