Statement:

I am highly influenced by pop-culture of the 1950s, pin-ups, hot rods, etc.  Its great making art that reflects what I love.

Background:

My whole life I've been surroudned by art and the idea that I would become an artist. My mom owned a ceramic shop for 10 years when I was growing up and that really helped in my development as an artist.  Since receiving my BFA in Graphic Design, I've been pursuing a career as a commercial designer.  My love for making collages stems from my abilities as a designer and my love of scrapbooking.  I am a nerd for cool paper and vintage ephemera, anything that I can hold in my hand and create with.  I consider myself very well rounded in the arts, I've been exposed to and trained in many different mediums which has been a great reference point for my art.  Along with my collages that I make, I also have a screen printing set-up, I love practicing traditional print methods.

I love buying, collecting, and looking for antiques.  I listen to new and old rockabilly, jazz, swing, blues, bluegrass, and old rock and roll.  I am a huge Humphrey Bogart fan, film noir, and Hitchcock.
