- 1. Is the website for Artists or Fans?
- Pangaeaa brings together both artists and fans.
- 2. Can I be an Artist and a User?
- Sure. Once you are a User, you can easily sign-up as an Artist.
- 3. How much does it cost users to join & download Art?
- Pangaeaa is free to use. The only cost occurs when you buy Art. At Pangaeaa Artists set the price for their Artwork and earn a significantly higher royalty on their Art.
- 4. Will music I buy on Pangaeaa play on my iPod or portable player?
- Yes! Pangaeaa uses MP3s for all music, so it will play on almost every computer and portable player.
- 5. Who owns the content on Pangaeaa?
- Pangaeaa was founded for Musicians, Artists, and Writers. That's why we don't make artists sign over any of the rights to their music, art or literature. Artists own their content, we just make it easier to discover.
- 6. Is Pangaeaa only for music?
- Pangaeaa is a community for Musicians, Artists and Writers.
- 7. How do I discover new Artists?
- Discovering new artists is easy, just navigate the scroll bar at the bottom of the home page or go to a specific genre. You are always sure to see our newest artists.
- 8. Is Pangaeaa a record company?
- Pangaeaa is not a record company. We combine the functionalities of social networking and e-commerce capability to help artists and fans find new ways to discover and access new music.
- 9. Is Pangaeaa secure?
- Absolutely! Your privacy comes first with no exceptions. We will never share or sell your email address or any other personal information. Read our Privacy Policy for more information.
- 10. Are record labels and publishers allowed on Pangaeaa?
- Of course! Pangaeaa provides content from certain labels and publishers. If you are a record label or publisher, please contact us at info@pangaeaa.com for more information.

- 12. How do I benefit from Pangaeaa?
- Pangaeaa allows you total control over how your art is presented. Artists can build a fan base, sell their art, music or literature and promote, among many other benefits.
- 13. How do I promote my artwork on Pangaeaa?
- Create your own micro-site and use the tell-a-friend area to send customizable emails that will point fans directly to your site. Fans can also use the tell-a-friend area to let other fans know about your page.
- 14. How do I participate in Pangaeaa?
- Every artist receives a totally customizable micro-site supported by their user profile area, in which they can present their art, music, or literature and express their content however they choose. You can post your bio, promote upcoming events, and even issue personalized emails to fans.
- 15. How much does it cost to be a member or to upload the various arts and information?
- Nothing. We pay you royalties for every item you sell. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO COSTS TO ARTISTS.
- 16. What rights do I give away to Pangaeaa?
- NONE. It's your art not ours. Read more.
- 17. What if a record label wants to sign me?
- Great! Congratulations! Artists are free to seek publishing and recording deals. We're here to help.
- 18. When do I get my royalties and how?
- Royalties are paid every month.
- Pangaeaa shall make all payments by way of PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account you need to sign up for one it's free. Sign up for PayPal
- Pangaeaa shall pay to the Artist any Royalties set out in the payment queue within 30 days of the Sale of the Art.
- If Royalties due to an Artist amount to less than twenty five dollars ($25), Pangaeaa will hold on to the payment until the Royalties payable exceed $25.
- 19. Can I upload cover songs on Pangaeaa?
- No. Because you don't own all the rights to the music, you can't upload or sell it. If you want to upload and sell cover songs you must provide us with proof of licensing obtained for such covers. Please contact info@pangaeaa.com for more information.
- 20. Will songs I sell on Pangaeaa work on iPods and other MP3 players?
- Yes! All songs sold on Pangaeaa are standard MP3 files. That means no matter what computer or music player your fans have your music will play just fine.
- 21. How much will my art be sold for and how much will I earn?
- You set the price for your artwork (min limits apply). Royalties earned will depend on the price at which the art was sold and the sales volume. The percentage of Royalty earned will be 90% of the selling price. (Minus $0.30 transaction fee).
- 22. If I already have a website/MySpace page, can I link it to Pangaeaa?
- Yes.
- 23. What kind of files can I upload?
- Pangaeaa allows MP3s, PDFs and JPEG uploads.
- 24. What is the maximum file size that I can upload?
- The current maximum size for all file uploads is 4MB. Pangaeaa hopes to increase this in the near future.
- 25. What happens if I decide to leave Pangaeaa?
- Artists are free to leave Pangaeaa at any time. We only ask that you notify us via email.
- 26. Can I place my artwork on other websites while they are on Pangaeaa? Or can I place them on my personal website?
- Yes! We allow the artist to distribute and sell their art through Pangaeaa in a non-exclusive manner.
- 27. What are my rights concerning other materials (photos, bios, etc.) I supply to Pangaeaa?
- You upload it, you own it. We make no claims whatsoever to any uploaded material.
- 28. What if I already have a recording or publishing contract?
- If you already have a record label or publishing agreement you will need to check with them to be sure there is no conflict for you to upload your material to Pangaeaa.
