Now that we are in a day and age where hip hop is starting to become
the worlds sideshow of reality. With the exaggeration in the lives of
so-called self-proclaimed individuals... In comes G3’. Born Gregory
John Anderson-Troy on December 10, 1981 in Pittsburgh, PA. He
comes from a family where he is the oldest of six children. At a young
he was academically ahead of his peers. By age seven he was placed
into a gifted program troughout his early years of education. Although
he understood why he was expected to attend, but it was hard to accept
that he had to attend on his own. He at times would be teased due to the
assumption that he was going to be tutored. They were right about one
thing... He truly was “special”. At times as a way to fit in he would miss
his bus parked right infront of his school, just to fit in with his peers. As
an adolecent G3’s life was fairly care free. He spent a great deal of time
around his grandmother. She was the one at every chance she got
encouraged him to be exceptional. That all came to an end when Evelyn
Troy passed away. It wasn’t easy at the time for G3’ to deal with due to
the fact he went fromthe opportunity to excell at whatever he got himself
into, to being dealt a hand of responsibilty that he wasn’t sure he could
handle. In his early teenage years he became more a part of his family’s
life. As he watched various friends, family, and aquaintances squander
their opportunities.G3’ tried his hand at it own interests. After graduating
high school at 17, he attended Pittsburgh Technical Institute. Immediately
afterwards he enrolled himself into Slippery Rock University. After his
quest for higher education was complete, he took advantage of an
internship with Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. It was his first
true taste of life on his own. Later that year G3’ returned home to
Pittsburgh for a short period of three months. At that time is when he
decided if truly wanted a chance to pursue HIS dreams he should keep
on going. So that’s exactlywhat he did. As he stood at the Greyhound
station he looked in his mother’s eyes as if to say he’s going to make it
without speaking... And so his journey begins.....
