Early Life
As a child, Dennis Dotson grew up like many boys in his neighborhood, fatherless and not enough money to invest a new pair of shoes. After hearing LL Cool J say, “I’m Bad”, he developed an interest in Hip Hop music. Dotson was highly influenced by artists like Run DMC. As he got older, his interest for creating, writing, and producing began to shine above being the next greatest rapper. He attended Cedar Valley College and Northwood University for 2 years before departing to pursue his dream as an entrepreneur.
Production Career
Dennis began producing for local talent in Dallas in early 2000. This production would quickly earn him a spot making music for television and film for a well-known production company in Dallas that allowed him to meet several instrumental people for his future. His production would soon tickle the ears of several publishers and music makers from Nashville, Tennessee who later extended an offer that would assist in placement for his creative property. After showing the world, that he was ready to be heard as a quadruple threat (artist, producer, songwriter, and engineer), he strategically earned the name Dirty Hollywood.
Beta Ent Publishing/Beta Entertainment Corp
In 2008, Dirty Hollywood launched Beta Ent Publishing and Beta Entertainment Corporation through his affiliation with ASCAP and Sony BMG. He would go on to work with Detroit’s headline rapper Swift (member of D12 and Eminem’s Shady Records). In summer of 2008, the company plans to release its first debut compilation of music and video collection premiering Dirty Hollywood at his finest. The company has a complete production team with producers who have worked with the likes of Steve Blast, Nelly, Chingy, Pretty Willie, Ebony Eyes, VH1, BET, MTV, HBO, Universal Records, Sony, RCA and many more.
