Blasé a.k.a. Michael LizzmoreCapricorn  

Since the first time his mother bought him a Jackie Wilson record as a child and entered him into the “Ted Mack Amateur Contest”, in which he placed 3^rd, he knew that his mission in life was to be a singer.

 

The first true soul singer on the Capitol Records label, he first burst upon the airwaves in the soulful 70’s with the heart-pounding, legendary classic “Promise That You’ll Wait.”  Crying out from the depths of his soul, he implores his woman to promise to wait for him after he goes off to war.

 

I was the arranger and conductor on that session.  I, also, wrote for him and did other sessions including a song that he did as a tribute to Jackie Wilson.

 

This 4-time winner of the legendary “Showtime at the Apollo” is stepping out of the shadows to thrill and mesmerize you with the seductive, “Hypnotized”, a tune he penned giving props to the late, great Linda Jones (who ironically scored with her biggest hit “Hypnotized”).  He and his partner Jesse Mathis (a.k.a. Francois, formerly of the groups “Forrrce” and “MD-20-20”) are on a mission.  Their purpose: to leave you Hypnotized.

Influences

Jackie Wilson was the "master" of rock 'n' roll as I sing in the song I wrote entitled "Jackie Wilson".  He was magical by far and my main influence.  Linda Jones was a very soulful, powerful and inspiring, yet not as well-known artist.  She died too young but I can hear some of her influence in my own voice as I sing.  Smokey Robinson's performances were always smoother than butter and his humble but confident persona is what one should notice about this great artist.  There are many other artists who inspired me, but too many to name.
